webinars like these?
The Gartner Peer Insights Vendor Success Team hosts this style webinar twice a year, typically in January and July. We invite all vendors to join us via email communications, pop-ups, and news notifications within your Gartner Peer Insights Vendor Portal. We also host various Gartner Peer Insights 101 sessions throughout the year, which offer a deep dive into platform features and tools – you can find previous sessions available here.
In-survey guidance
Where do you get the topics to consider? Are they from the market definition or critical capabilities?
The Topics to Consider section is designed as an evolving capability that will leverage multiple data sources over time. In the initial phase, the primary source will be Market Features. As the feature matures, we plan to expand its intelligence by incorporating insights from previously approved reviews. This will allow us to surface more comprehensive and meaningful topics, ultimately improving the quality and depth of the recommendations provided.
Will the in-survey guidance be translated to Spanish/Chinese/other languages?
In the initial phase, in‑survey guidance will be available only in English. Our team is actively exploring multi‑lingual, real‑time contextual NLP matching capabilities to extend this feature to additional languages such as Spanish, Chinese, and others in future releases.
If the reviewer doesn’t use or reference the topics, will their review not be approved?
No. It is not a mandatory checklist, and reviews will not be rejected for not addressing the suggested topics. In‑Survey Guidance is designed to support reviewers by highlighting key topics they may want to consider. The intent is simply to help reviewers share a more complete and valuable account of their experience. The topics serve as directional prompts, not exhaustive requirements, and reviewers are free to focus on whichever aspects of their experience they believe are most relevant.
Will the in-survey guidance impact our sentiment scores?
No. In‑survey guidance is not designed to influence sentiment in any direction. It simply highlights potential features or topics that a reviewer may choose to discuss based on their experience. Reviewers are free to share positive, negative, or neutral feedback on those topics or ignore them entirely.
Persona-based Survey
What if someone considers themselves to have more than one role? Can they select more than one of the role options?
Yes. Users will be able to select multiple roles if they identify with more than one. The survey will then adapt dynamically, presenting all relevant questions associated with each selected role.
Will what the reviewer selects in terms of role impact how their review is considered towards an upcoming Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer (VoC)? For MQ consideration?
No. The process will continue to follow the current structure. Role selection will have no impact on VoC or MQ eligibility, as long as the reviewer’s organization is not a partner.
Can you send us the list of questions that each persona will be asked?
Currently, we’re in the pilot phase, and the question sets for each persona are part of a dynamic, continuously evolving framework. Because the content is actively being refined based on testing, feedback, and model performance, we do not yet have a finalized or static list of questions to share.
Which persona will be considered a ‘partner’ review on the site?
Reviewers will have the option to self‑identify as partners during the survey. However, the final determination of whether a review qualifies as a “partner” review is made by our Validation and Moderation teams. Following their due diligence and internal checks, they assess the reviewer’s information and confirm whether the review should be classified as a partner review.
Can you discuss in more detail the types of roles or personas that will have a tailored questionnaire?
We will tailor questionnaires for five roles: four in‑house and one external. The in‑house roles include Decision Makers (involved in product selection, purchasing, or contract negotiation), Implementers (responsible for setup, implementation, or customization), Administrators (who manage and maintain the product on an ongoing basis), and Users (who use the product in their day‑to‑day work). The external role is a Partner, who resells the product or supports its implementation and use at other organizations.
Unified Product Page
With the new unified page for products/services being introduced, does this mean that reviews are now shared across markets?
No, reviews are still aligned to a single market. The unified page allows users to see reviews across all markets for a product. In the future we may also adapt the survey approach to be product-led with market use case considerations.
Do we still need to source reviews in each market we are listed in, or will a review count for all the markets?
As of now, reviews are still aligned to a single market, so sourcing across different markets is still required.
How will reviews be counted towards an upcoming VoC with the unified view? For MQ consideration?
Reviews will still be sourced and eligible for our VoC and MQ documents in the same manner. The unified view will only impact how users view our review insights, not how they are sourced or captured.
How does this impact how users find our product on the site?
With the new, unified pages, users will have a simpler experience for finding and consuming product review details on the site. Instead of multiple options when a user searches for a single product, the users will have a single destination for all product reviews.
Can we now quote our total reviews for a product across all markets in our marketing materials?
This has always been permitted, per the Gartner Peer Insights Content Compliance Policy. You must include links back to Gartner Peer Insights which validate the number of total reviews being marketed.
Will we be able to compare our product to another from the unified view?
Our compare pages are still specific to particular markets.
AskGartner & Gartner Peer Insights Integration
I have a Gartner license. How do I know if I have access to AskGartner?
If you have access, the AskGartner link is shown on the top navigation bar, near the Gartner logo, search bar and account settings.
How can we make it more likely that we will be included in AskGartner answers?
Based on the question asked, AskGartner automatically draws on all relevant reviews whether that is with a market-, vendor- or product-lens. As always you will want to ensure you are represented in the Peer Insight review base with detailed and recent reviews.
Will our reviews only show as a result in AskGartner if the person searches our specific company name or product name?
Not necessarily. Information is picked up based on relevance to user questions. For example, some information could be included if a user asks questions about a market.
Will we be able to see statistics on how often our Gartner Peer Insights data appears as a result in AskGartner?
Not currently, but we are exploring a “what’s trending” type of tool which will expose trending topics from AskGartner interactions. We will evolve our insight generation based on feedback from end users and vendors.
Will AskGartner be available on Gartner Peer Insights and if so, who will have access?
AskGartner is currently available only for Gartner clients, accessible from Gartner.com client portal. It is not available from the public Gartner Peer Insights site.
Will AskGartner sources be labeled in the answers? For example, will someone know the difference between elements of an answer that came from analyst research vs. review content?
Yes, the sources will be labeled very clearly. The answer will start with info based on published expert research, and then supplement with information from Gartner Peer Insights, clearly labeled. The insights are not blended into one combined perspective.
Peer Content: Voice of the Customer & Peer Lessons Learned
How do I know if a Voice of the Customer is coming to the market I am in?
You can see announcements/updates regarding a Voice of the Customer document in your Voice of the Customer Dashboard on the Gartner Peer Insights Vendor Portal and in the Voice of the Customer Publication Calendar.
Can you explain more about what the Voice of the Customer document is and how we can leverage it?
The Voice of the Customer (VoC) synthesizes reviews in a specific market over a specified 18-month period. This document provides an overall perspective for IT decision-makers. You can find an overview of the VoC here.
Gartner clients can use the VoC through a Gartner Reprint in many ways for Marketing/Sales activities, such as:
Lead Generation
Embed reprints in corporate marketing
Create awareness and visibility online via social media campaigns or advertisements
Leverage multi-channel opportunities
Create ‘super assets’
Non-Gartner clients are welcome to market their placement in the VoC via their own marketing collateral, such as social media posts or Press Releases.
As a reminder, please submit all draft promotional materials online in an editable format so that the Content Compliance team may provide a full compliance review prior to external sharing. The Gartner Peer Insights Content Compliance Policy applies to all promotional material.
If you have any questions about becoming a Gartner client, please reach out to us at PeerInsightsVendorSuccess@gartner.com.
What is PLL?
“Peer Lessons Learned” is a thought leadership document that synthesizes lessons learned from end users who have implemented a software or IT service. You can learn more about Peer Lessons Learned here.
Are there certain markets on Gartner Peer Insights that are not eligible for a VoC?
Both Gartner Peer Insights-defined and Expert-defined markets (Gartner MQ/MG-aligned) on the Gartner Peer Insights platform are candidates for a VoC report where the publication criteria are met. Voice of the Customer (VoC) documents are produced when the Gartner Peer Insights team determines that there is end-user interest, sufficient data available on the platform, and production capacity.
Market Categories are markets that correspond to broader market themes that vendor offerings could be listed in until a more relevant Gartner Peer Insights-defined or Expert-defined market opens, or the vendor offering is able to meet the minimum criteria to list in that defined market. Because these market categories are broader market themes and not defined markets, they are not eligible for a VoC document.
Will you be providing more visibility when VoCs are confirmed and if mandatory features of a market have changed so vendors can ensure they provide any necessary details? We were removed from the market before the VoC and were not informed.
Gartner MQ/MG aligned market and Gartner Peer Insights-Defined market definitions are continuously evolving, and Gartner Peer Insights MQ/MG aligned markets and Gartner Peer Insights-Defined markets are periodically reviewed to ensure alignment is maintained. As part of audit activity, a dedicated Gartner Peer Insights team uses a set of criteria for evaluating if a technology provider’s products and/or services align with the Gartner Peer Insights MQ/MG aligned market or Gartner Peer Insights-Defined market definitions.
If it is determined that a product no longer meets the criteria to be included in the market, the necessary updates will be made to the product listings, and we will inform via email of any changes. Please ensure that you have subscribed to email notifications in your Profile to ensure you receive these notifications. If you ever have questions about your product listings, please reach out to your Program Manager or PeerInsightsVendorSuccess@gartner.com.
Where can we access the VoC Publication Calendar?
You can access the VoC Publication Calendar in the Resources center.
Review Snippets Enhancements
We have reviews that do not have Review Snippets. How do I get snippets created for these reviews?
Only the latest reviews rated 4 stars or higher within the past 12 months are eligible for snippet generation. Currently, reviews from Partner products and Legacy products are not included in the selection process. We also filter out reviews that contain grammatical or spelling errors, so it is possible that not every review you receive will have a snippet generated. We are actively working on an enhanced version of Review Snippets, where we plan to broaden the criteria and explore additional ways to generate more snippets.
Can we download all the snippets at once?
Bulk downloading of snippets is currently not supported. We are actively working on the next version of Review Snippets and exploring additional features that will make it easier for you to download and manage snippets.
Will Review Snippets be generated from reviews created in other languages?
Yes, review snippets are generated for reviews in all supported languages.
Review Insights & Profile Insights
Can we get a list of the names and contact details from the prospect insights for those who are visiting our Gartner Peer Insights page?
No, we will not share the contact details of those visiting a vendor’s profile due to the anonymous nature of Gartner Peer Insights. The objective of Profile Insights is to help vendors understand engagement with their profiles, such as the depth of engagement, where visitors are coming from, and similar metrics.
Do you need to be a Gartner client to get access to these insights?
To access Profile Insights and Review Insights, you will need access to the Gartner Peer Insights Vendor Portal. As we expand the Insights capabilities, we will continue to balance what is made available in your Gartner Peer Insights Vendor Portal and what insights may only be accessible as a Gartner client.
Can we use the insights in our marketing material?
Profile Insights and Review Insights are intended for internal reporting, strategic planning and team discussions. This information can be used for internal use only and cannot be used in external marketing materials. Please review the Gartner Peer Insights Content Compliance policy for eligible Gartner Peer Insights content that can be used in marketing.
Is there a minimum # of page views I need to have published for the Profile Insights to populate?
For Profile Insights, the threshold is set at the unique visitor level, with a minimum of 20 unique visitors required for the selected date range and market.
Will we be able to download Profile Insights to share internally?
Yes, you will be able to do so for Profile Insights, and we encourage you to share these insights with internal teams.
Are Profile Insights at the market level, or product level?
Profile Insights will be available at both the market and product levels. The product level insights will help you understand your product’s performance, and the market level insights will help you compare your product to other products listed in the market.
Will we be able to filter Profile Insights by date ranges?
Yes, for Profile Insights, there will be three predefined date ranges to start with: Last 30 days, Last quarter, and Last year.
Can you please give more details about the key words feature and how review content will influence this?
The intended purpose of the key words feature is to: (a) Surface keywords that are prominently featured across vendor reviews for the selected market and product. (b) Allow users to search for keywords of their choice. For example, if you search for ‘artificial intelligence’, all reviews where this keyword is featured will be filtered, enabling vendors to read only those relevant reviews. The review content will be the primary driver for this functionality.
Are the planned Review Insights in the vendor portal limited to a given time frame? (e.g. last 12 months, All-time, etc.?) Will we be able to apply filters to these Review Insights?
Yes, they may be limited to predefined date ranges, like what we currently see in Buyer Insights.
Gartner Peer Insights Site & General Questions
Can you please share what languages are now offered on Peer Insights?
The Gartner Peer Insights survey is now available in ten languages- English, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. You can learn more here.
Please note that all Vendor Portal information, including the Company Description and Product Descriptions, only operate in English.
How are markets opened on Gartner Peer Insights?
Markets on Gartner Peer Insights are a combination of Expert-defined and Peer Insights-defined and opened/listed based on demand/interest indicators. Please consult the Market Categories Available on Gartner Peer Insights article on the Vendor Portal for additional details.
At the top of each market page on Gartner Peer Insights, you show vendors who are the highest rated in 4 different categories. How do you pick these categories to highlight? Have you considered using only 12 months of review data in these assessments to provide a more accurate and current view of customer feedback?
These categories are based on reviews in the market. For example, if most products have reviews from APAC, that is what will be featured in the section. We do not limit the ratings to the last 12 months, but the ratings are decayed over time so that more recent reviews will count more for the products.
Will Gartner Peer Insights update the questions in the review surveys based on the MQ? For example, the MMH review survey does not ask any questions about AI and agents, but the MQ is heavily focused on this.
Review surveys are currently designed to remain consistent and broadly comparable across time. As we are working to improve our survey, we are considering the potential for questions to be more dynamic
What does it mean when a review is Sourced by Gartner? We have seen reviews show up in markets we are listed in that we do not actively promote.
Garner Peer Insights collects reviews from individuals through various types of direct outreach and sourcing initiatives to grow the number of reviews on the site. Once a user creates a Gartner Peer Insights account, they may begin to receive communication from us about contributing additional reviews. All communication is vendor-neutral and simply invites users to write more reviews on our site. You can learn more about different review sources on Gartner Peer Insights here.
Does Gartner have any plans shift from the current model that relies on vendors to generate reviews? Will Gartner develop campaigns to generate review organically?
There are 4 different ways reviews can be received on Gartner Peer Insights. Reviews can be vendor-sourced, Gartner-sourced, invited by a peer, or organically sourced. You can read more about these different sources in our Different Review Sources on Gartner Peer Insights article.
Sourcing Reviews & Review Moderation Process
What is the average amount of time a reviewer must spend to complete a Gartner Peer Insights review?
Reviewers should plan to set aside 10-15 minutes to complete a review.
How should vendors position the value of Gartner Peer Insights reviews to customers who ask why they should submit a review and what is in it for them?
The feedback that reviewers provide can help enhance your organization’s products and services in the future. Let them know that their voices really do make an impact! You are also welcome to offer your customers a $25 USD or equivalent incentive for leaving a review. You can upload funds using credit card or ACH/wire transfer. Reviewers leaving their feedback are also giving back to their community by:
Providing insights into what’s working well and what needs improvement
Driving innovation and suggesting new features/enhancements
Building a sense of trust and engagement
How does Gartner find and source reviews? We want to ensure our customers aren't asked twice --by us (the vendor) and Gartner.
Gartner Peer Insights collects reviews from individuals through various types of direct outreach and sourcing initiatives. Once a user creates a Gartner Peer Insights account, they may begin to receive communication from us about contributing additional reviews. All communication is vendor-neutral and simply invites users to write more reviews on our site! Reviewers have the option to unsubscribe from any Gartner Peer Insights outreach within the Email Preferences section in their profile.
Is there an advised gap of frequency with a repeat customer completing the same survey?
Reviewers can update or delete their reviews at any time. Within their Reviewer Profile, they will see a blue button that says UPDATE REVIEW. Clicking on this will auto-populate their previous answers and they can make the changes necessary to update their review. Once complete, they will need to submit the review.
During the moderation process, the pre-existing review will be temporarily unpublished from the site and go back through the moderation process. Once the updated review has been approved, the review will be posted with an updated publish date.
Will there ever be the opportunity to change the gift card amount for vendor-funded incentives?
Incentives offered must be of nominal value (as required by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC)) and aligns with your company's and your customers' policies on accepting gifts. Gartner has determined that nominal value for an individual Gartner Peer Insights review must not exceed $25 USD. We are exploring the possibility of offering an incentive value customization capability while remaining compliant with FTC guidelines.
We run into compliance issues with government/public sector clients at in-person events who cannot accept incentives. Can we reduce or eliminate incentives for them?
Reviewers who are in the government/public sector are not eligible to receive incentives per Gartner’s eligibility criteria for incentives. Gartner Peer Insights has business process controls in place to ensure no incentive is awarded to government/public sector contributors when they correctly identify that as their Industry in the review process. You can review the full criteria in our Community Guidelines – 2.3 About Incentivized Reviews: For Reviewers.
Will you ever share more details about the reviews, such as the reviewer’s name? We cannot follow up properly right now with customers, especially after receiving a low rating, when we do not know who submitted the review.
As outlined in the Writing Review – Reviewer Expectation section of the Gartner Peer Insights Community Guidelines, we do not reveal the identity of a reviewer or their organization’s name on our website. We maintain an anonymous platform so that Reviewer can feel free to contribute without fear of harassment or retribution by another reviewer or a vendor.
We have many reviews that get rejected due to "credentials". How can we see more details to know which customers are getting rejected? How does Gartner communicate issues to the customer to correct and validate their review?
When vendors source reviews via a Review Sourcing Link or Review Collection we provide them with high-level insight into the status of their campaign. You as the vendor will not see specific details about the review, however, this is clearly communicated to the reviewer via email. See our Glimpse into the Reviewer Experience article for further details.
Please see our article A review was rejected for credentials - What should we do? for more details on why reviews may be rejected for credentials.
We have a very high review rejection rate (70+%). The main reason for the rejection is their email address not being verified or accepted. Why not have the system reject the review right then and provide specific guidance on how to verify the email address rather than let the review proceed and hope they fix it later (which most will not do this)?
When reviews are not approved, the Gartner Peer Insights team will reach out to the reviewer directly via email with why the review was not approved and the steps, if any, they can take to correct their review and resubmit for reevaluation. These details will also appear on the review in the My Reviews section of their profile.
In most cases when reviews are rejected due to Credentials, reviewers will need to validate their email address using the steps sent to them, or they will need to provide additional information regarding their identity, employer and role directly to the Gartner Peer Insights team so that our team can re-evaluate their review. They can do this by replying directly to the email they received, or by reaching out to PeerInsights@gartner.com.
How are you ensuring that your team is not inadvertently rejecting customer reviews that your system flags as AI-Generated, when the customer in fact did NOT use AI to generate their response. This has happened to a few of our customers who informed us that Gartner rejected their review due to it being AI-generated, when they advise they didn't use AI at all to generate their review.
At Gartner Peer Insights, our goal is to ensure that every review reflects a reviewer’s original, firsthand experience with the product or service. To support that, we use a combination of multiple detection tools, linguistic‑signal checks, and other checks, to identify AI-generated content. These tools are designed to flag potential indicators only. Every flagged review is manually reviewed by our team before any final determination is made.
If a reviewer ever comes to you with a question on their review status, please advise them to contact our Support team directly at PeerInsights@gartner.com. Please remember that the Gartner Peer Insights team cannot comment on individual reviews directly with a tech provider or allow a tech provider to involve themselves in the review process. Given the anonymous nature of the reviews on Gartner Peer Insights, we ask that you redirect customers to our Support Team for individual assistance.
Gartner Peer Insights Vendor Portal & Managing Your Presence
Do you offer training on the Gartner Peer Insights platform?

How do I turn on the notification to be alerted of new reviews?
To get new reviews notifications, please log-in and visit the In-Portal Notification Preference section on the Vendor Portal to update your preferences and customize your notifications. You can learn more here.
When will the Reply to Review feature be turned back on?
At this time, there is no set date for when Reply to Reviews may be reinstated. The intended purpose of this feature is to address critical reviews and foster meaningful communication where it is most impactful. To ensure the feature is used as intended, the Reply to Review capability is paused while we re-evaluate this offering.
We would like to have the opportunity to publicly respond to customer reviews, both positive and negative. When will this feature be back?
At this time, there is no set date for when Reply to Reviews may be reinstated. The intended purpose of this feature is to address critical reviews and foster meaningful communication where it is most impactful. To ensure the feature is used as intended, the Reply to Review capability is paused while we re-evaluate this offering.
Are there any plans to add a capability that will allow us to pull all recent reviews in a CSV format so we can do our own sentiment analysis?
At this time, we do not provide the ability to export all recent reviews in CSV format as we do not permit this level of data extraction. However, we are continuously working to enhance the portal with new features and capabilities that will help you gain deeper insights into client feedback and sentiment. Currently, you have access to your User Sentiment and can download it right from the platform. We encourage you to explore this feature, and please stay tuned for future enhancements that will further support you.
Any plans to make API available for integrating review content/data with our systems for our own monitoring and analysis?
At this time, we do not have API’s available. The Gartner Peer Insights Vendor Portal is your destination to view the review content and key metrics such as review count, changes over time, pageviews by product, market, ratings, competitor changes over time, and more. Additionally, our team is working to share summary and insights from the review content during the year. Please contact your Program Manager to discuss the different use cases for further exploration.
Gartner Business & Technology Insights
Analysts continue to use Gartner Peer Insights when convenient, but not all analysts are using reviews. Is Gartner changing their policy re: analyst use of Gartner Peer Insights for MQ/CC assessments?
Gartner Peer Insights reviews serve as a valuable source of information for Gartner analysts. While these reviews provide important insights into customer experiences and satisfaction, analysts consider them alongside a broad range of other factors during their evaluation and research processes. The extent to which Gartner Peer Insights reviews factor into an analyst’s assessment is determined at their discretion.
Where is Gartner Peer Insights integrated into Gartner.com?
See our Gartner Peer Insights integrations with Gartner.com article for further details.
