Questions about requests, request statuses, and more

Updated over 11 months ago

What happens when a request is submitted to add or update products?

The Peer Insights team reviews the submitted vendor requests. On average, requests are processed within 3-5 business days. You will receive an email once your request is processed. You can view more details and track your requests within your request tracker on the GPI Vendor Portal. The final determination if a product or service fits in a market/category is at the discretion of Gartner Peer Insights.

How do I check the status and details of my requests?

You can track and view details about your request using the request tracker on the GPI Vendor Portal. Login to the portal, visit request tracker and view details about the request.

What are different reasons for not approval of requests and what next steps I can follow?

Details about what each not approval reason means is mentioned in the below table. Click on request type to know more about not approval reasons and what it means to you.

If you have additional information to be considered for this evaluation, you can submit a new request addressing the reasons detailed below and mentioned in the request tracker. Make sure to support the request with evidence from publicly available source like your website, or a press release, that highlights capabilities of your product or service. No internal documents will be accepted.

How do I get my requests reconsidered?

If your request is not approved, the first step is to view the request details on the request tracker. There will be next steps outlined to take if you do not agree with the decision. Please keep in mind for all re-evaluation requests, our team will require supporting evidence from publicly available sources like your website or a press release. We do not accept internal documents for product/market/category evaluations. Some things to keep in mind for requests:

  1. Product Details: To be included on Peer Insights, you must meet the market/category inclusion criteria for your requested market/category. Provide links with supporting evidence from publicly available source like your website, or a press release, that highlights capabilities of your product or service so we can run our market/category inclusion evaluation

  2. Customers: We only list enterprise products – make sure you provide details about your mid to large enterprise clients for any product listing requests

  3. Language: Gartner Peer Insights operates in English; we do not support other languages at this time. Make sure your website and other supporting links are provided in English

Read More about our product listing process.

If you are still not satisfied with the decision, reach out to your program manager or email us at peerinsightsvendorsuccess@gartner.com

Why was my product aligned to the “Others” classification? Will this alignment restrict my product experience with Peer Insights?

If there are products or services that do not meet the minimum criteria to be included in a Gartner Peer Insights market/category, then we may align these products to one of the 13 broad market “Other” classifications subject to the condition that the vendor meets Gartner Peer Insights criteria for serving mid to large-size enterprise customers.

Products that are listed for review within the “others” classifications are open for your customers to contribute reviews similar to any other product listed on Gartner Peer Insights. You are still able to access the GPI Vendor Portal, and leverage these reviews in sales conversations and for your marketing materials.

Because “others” classifications include products that are not directly comparable in terms of capabilities, we do not offer the “Alternatives” or “Comparison” tools for these products. Similarly, we do not offer a Market/Category view page for any “others” classification.

Please see our Community Guidelines for more information.

What does “On-Hold” status mean for a request?

“On-Hold” status means that your product has been approved for addition to the requested market/category, but the market/category is temporarily “closed” for any new additions due to an ongoing Customers’ Choice. Your product will go live on the Gartner Peer Insights website for review on the communicated date i.e. when the Customers’ Choice sourcing period ends.

What if a technology provider disagrees with the placement of the product or service in a Gartner Peer Insights market/category or is unable to fit in an existing Peer Insights market/category? What is the process?

You can refer to the next steps outlined in request tracker within request details. If you need more help, please reach out to your program manager or email us at peerinsightvendorsuccess@gartner.com and we will help.

If you have already taken the recommended next steps and still disagree with the decision, you may escalate this to the Ombudsman. This escalation process is outlined below:

Step 1: Send an email of your documented complaint to ombudsman@gartner.com
Step 2: You will be contacted to discuss your complaint
